Comporium Communications provides local and toll service, as well as access to other long distance carriers, within a federal government-defined geographic area called the Charlotte LATA (local access and transport area). Toll calls to locations within this area are carried by Comporium or a long distance company of the caller’s choice. Toll calls to locations outside of this area are carried by a long distance company of the caller’s choice.
